Was out of date so chucked it out due to an easily compromised immune system

Hi Kirri-lee. If you read the product description, you can see that the best before date is clearly stated in red. A best before date is not the same as a use-by date. The product is still safe to consume however I understand if you chose not to due to your health issues. Please ensure you always read the product description to avoid disappointment in the future.
